Im gonna once again go with Diaz vs. GSP once again on my ever present defense of Diaz. People love to point to him being decisioned by Sherk, Karo, Diego and Riggs…what they dont like to mention is Sherk was a former champ at the time with all of two losses on his record(Hughes and GSP) The Karo fight was an ultra close split decision, Riggs was huge and Nick wasnt a shell of the fighter he is now. NOW he’s one of the better boxers in MMA with an intense ground game an iron chin and the experience and will to win. Just caught a typo in my discussion of Jennifer's post. I said according to Jennifer interfering factors are *not* present in the studies I cite. What I should have said is that according to her the experiments I cite do not undermine her claim that in cases of bad external correlation inferring factors *are* generally present (she cites distraction and priming), so that cases where they are absent “are not likely to present dissociations [by which I took her to mean cases of bad external correlation because that is what is at issue]”. My second point under 3 is just that in the experiments I cite by Stevens and Price such interfering factors are not present and yet there is bad external correlation in my sense.

Hubby and I have been together for 18 years and have never celebrated Valentines Day. We wish each other a Valentines day, but that's as far as it goes. I know he loves me and that I love him, he gets me flowers off and on during the year, does things for me and leaves me notes just because. A Hallmark holiday should not remind people to be civil, or show love, or even say they're loved. People should follow that rule every day of their life.

That was my initial response when I first heard this story. The guy does romantic comedies. How threatening can he be?!

The best professor I had always had open book exams because he’s not testing our ability to memorize but ability to take concepts and apply them. If you can’t remember one detail, you always have references in the real world. Mark, thanks for the reply. My issue is that it is exactly where Bell is clearest that his ideas raise the most concerns. If Bell's ideas are too intellectual for me to grasp then I'm happy for him to reduce his ideas the to lowly level of someone like me so that I too might be enlightened. I'm very happy to hear answers to the questions I raised in the post. I also wonder how well Bell's ideas communicate to other ordinary Christians like me. Or does Bell only operate in the rarified atmosphere where humble people like you can understand?

When I was maybe 16 I had a stalker. Maybe for a year or so. I still don’t even know his name or how he knew me because we didn’t even go to the same school. Nonetheless I remember that he had “messengers” that would deliver letters and gifts to me. He had some sick idea that I was “his girl” and he kept turning up everywhere I went. Luckily I had the sense to not go anywhere alone. Come Valentines of that year he even showed up at my house. I didn’t live in the same town where I went to school. I lived at least 30 miles away in the woods. Almost no one knew where I lived and I don’t know how he found out. Anyway, he showed up and I did go to the door to talk to him because my *entire* family was there and I figured if I stayed where they could see me I’d be fine. He kept asking to talk to me “in private” and motioning towards an area around the corner and kind of towards where he had a car full of people waiting. It was creepy and I refused. He was there for like 20 minutes asking over and over again for me to go somewhere private and I never did. Eventually my boyfriend and all the male members of my family came outside to smoke (and intimidate) and he just left. These kinds of things went on for a long time, but I dated jocks in high school and they may suck a lot of the time but they will beat a stalker and make him stop coming around. They’re really good at that.
